Numerous students have inquired about the resumption of the 2023-2024 academic session, which was recently delayed owing to ASUU strike in the case of universities. The date of school reopening has been announced. The date for the reopening of all secondary, elementary, and university schools has been fixed and a new date established.

The Federal Ministry of Education has made it known to the general public that the new date that has been fixed for resumption for first term, second term and third term, and also for first and second semester for tertiary institutions and this information will be communicated to prospective school authorities.

The Federal Government has not yet established a date for the reopening of higher institutions, however several states have announced dates for the reopening of nursery, primary, and secondary schools.

Please note, however, that the state government can also change this date as it sees fit, but the Federal Ministry has recommended its own date for schools to reopen, thus for the time being all schools are expected to keep this date in mind.

The third term commencement date for both private and public schools is September 5th, 2023. After the holidays, all educational institutions will return for the new semester on this date. In Nigeria, the secondary schools resume classes at the same time as the elementary schools.
